Chernobyl BASIN

For proper implementation is essential that the pool basin to be sealed and have no loss of water and be a dimensionally stable support to ensure durability for the finish. The newly built swimming is possible to achieve the above characteristics, using waterproof concrete (according to UNI-EN 206.1), with a compact cement matrix due to report low water / cement ratio (a / c <0.55), characterized by lack of concrete shrinkage . For prestressed, MAPEI has a wide range of additives that superplastifiantii Mapefluid line or super additive reduction acrylic polymer base Dynamon line, allowing the realization of concrete with a low ratio of water / cement ratio, but with excellent workability ( T4/T5).

Leakproof between pool walls and bottom slab is usually a weak point in the contact surfaces, are usually water penetration problems. Leakproof casting the foundation walls can be made using extrusion rubber cord in gum hydrophilic, which may expand in the presence of water up to 120%.

The correct maturation concrete wet for seven days, with the above prescriptions can get a waterproof basin.

STAND OUT flatness

Operations first before applying waterproofing, bonding of ceramic mosaic tiles or glass, so the pools new and existing plants, is the redemption or substrate flatness correction. For these operations MAPEI offers the following solutions:

APlastering wall surface

The concrete walls remove laitance and then run a trowel or mechanically by spraying a coating. The material is cement, type Nivoplan (mortar), mixed with Planicrete (based on synthetic rubber latex for preparing cement mixtures) diluted 1:4 with water.

2Bottom surface leveling

For the support of concrete laitance is removed and then spread a coat of adhesive, made from Planicrete mixed with water and used as a binder for cement screed correction. The screed bonding primer should be fresh.

As binders can be used Topcem (hydraulic cement binder), Topcem Pronto (mortar screed) or alternatively Mapecem (hydraulic cement binder) or Mapecem Pronto (mortar screed). By using the first two types of materials is possible after only 24 hours, applying waterproofing. Which require a shorter execution time, binder for leveling screed is Mapecem (special binder fast setting, shrinkage). In this case the leveling screed, after only 3 hours after application, apply waterproofing.

3Waterproofing (Optional)

If concrete used is prepared in accordance with the requirements of UNI-EN 206.1, commissioning work is completed correctly and maturation is wet for 7 days, MAPEI guarantees a waterproof concrete structures, and not require a subsequent application waterproofing (are special cases depending on weather conditions in that country). If poured concrete is permeable due to high ratio of water / cement casting deficiencies and inadequate compaction or aging, Mapei waterproofing guarantees basin by subsequent application of waterproofing.

Mapei waterproofing solution consists in applying Mapelastic (elastic and waterproof mortar, cement, two parts) applied with a trowel or notched, 2 mm thick and reinforced with fiberglass mesh, provided the joints between surfaces (wall / wall or walls / leveling screed) with Mapeband (waterproof rubber profile).

Under normal temperature after 5 days of application, the waterproofing Mapelastic can stick ceramic finishes.

4Bonding ceramic finishes

MAPEI has a wide range of adhesives for bonding ceramic finishes, adhesives that are used depending on the nature and type of finish or during the execution and putting into operation of the pool.

a) Bonding of glass mosaics, MAPEI recommends using ADESILEX P10 (white cement based adhesive with high adhesion, no slip) C2TE class (after standard EN 12004), mixed with Isolastic latex (latex for adhesives based elasticizant cement) diluted 1:1 with water.

b) for fixing ceramic and porcelain tiles Klinker, Mapei adhesive system proposed use Keracrete Põlva (mortar) mixed with Keracrete (synthetic latex) adhesive C2T (after standard EN 12004).

Using two types of adhesives, filling the pool with water can be after 21 days from sticking finish.

c) For a review in use fast, flexible adhesive Mapei Granirapid proposed use (two-component adhesive with rapid setting and hydration) C2F/S1 class (according to standard EN 12004 and 12002). In this case the joints between ceramic finishes can be grouted after 3-4 hours and the pool can be filled with water after only 3 days.

Grouting RIGID

a) is made with Keracolor grouting (cement mortar-time high workability) mixed with liquid polymer additive Fugolastic.

* A for joints Keracolor FF 0-6mm wide or Keracolor GG grout width from 4-15mm.

b) For works fast grouting joints can be used Ultracolor Plus (special mortar setting and ultra-fast drying). Plus Ultracolor Keracolor and superior kits CG2 (according to EN 13888).

c) For pools with thermal water or sea water, is required to use waterproof grout kits and resistant to chemical aggression to prevent infiltration of salts or aggressive chemicals for concrete under ceramic tiles. For this reason antacid use putty, epoxy bicomponent - Kerapoxy Class RG (after standard EN 13 888). Kerapoxy is used and where it aims to increase awareness impermeabilzare pool.

Using Keracolor + Fugolastic or Kerapoxy, pool can be filled with water after 7 days. Using Ultracolor Plus, the pool can be filled with water after 48 hours.

SEALING OF EXPANSION

To seal the expansion and fractionation of ceramic or elastomeric sealants will use silicone sealants - AC Mapesil type, available in same colors as those of the joint sealants. To ensure maximum adhesion of the sealant into the joint, must be used primer Primer FD.

Fractional joints run at maximum surface field of 3 x 3 m and the dependence of any gaps in support. Expansion joints to run at all joints between ceramic surfaces (wall / wall and wall / floor basin).

TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS IN CONSTRUCTION PHASE

APreparation of concrete

To obtain a watertight tank, concrete must have the following characteristics:
- Rc ≥ 37 N/mm2;
- Class of workability: T4/T5 (according to UNI-EN206.1);
- Waterproof after UNI-206.1;
- Sustainability: according to UNI-EN 206.1 (exposure class XD2 *);
- Thickness of concrete covering the reinforcement:> 3 cm.

Concrete will be addition of additives Mapefluid line (production standards) or acrylic polymer based additives Dynamon line (production standards) in accordance with UNI-EN 934-2, additives to be chosen depending on ambient temperature and working conditions of the site.

* In pools with sea water or when class is XS2 environmental exposure, it is necessary that the concrete have a minimum resistance Rc ≥ 45 N/mm2.

2Leakproof joint between wall and foundation workSealing the joint between the slab and foundation walls to ensure settling on extrusion, (expandable rubber cord, without bentonite) which is fixed by bonding with mastic or adhesive extrusion concrete cloves. Then pour the walls. The material must have the following characteristics:
- Dimensions: 20x10 mm or 20x15 mm;
- Coefficient of expansion in contact with water:
- 45% (24 hours);
- 70% (after 2 days);
- 120% (after 7 days).

3Plastering walls and straightening surface

Away from the concrete laitance decofrol marks, dust or any fat that may interfere with bonding. First will be given a sprite and then adhesive plaster.

Apply a plaster prepared with mortar mixed with latex Nivoplan Planicrete diluted with water in 1:4 ratio. The mortar should have the following characteristics:
- Open time: 2-3 hours;
- Applying the layer thickness: 2-30 mm;
- Tensile strength: ≥ 3.5 N/mm2;
- Compressive strength: ≥ 6 N / mm2.

4Bottom surface leveling

Away from the concrete laitance decofrol marks, dust or any fat that may interfere with bonding. For leveling surfaces, apply a leveling screed, prepared with binders or Mapecem or mortar Topcem Topcem Pronto, Pronto Mapecem.

To ensure proper adhesion of leveling screed on the support, first apply a primer composed of latex bonding Planicrete mixed with water and glue used in the preparation of subfloor.

Leveling screed always pour fresh adhesion primer.

The choice of binder is given the time available to perform work.

Using Topcem or Topcem Pronto, the dig finishes can be applied by bonding with adhesives after 24 hours, and after only 3 hours if the Mapecem or Mapecem Pronto. Mortar screed must have the following characteristics:
- Compressive strength: ≥ 25 N/mm2;
- Apt to be waterproof or ceramic coated finish after: only 24 hours.

5Waterproofing

This operation is optional if the concrete was made, put in work and aged properly according to 1 or if ambient temperatures are consistently high. If you still need a vapor barrier should be applied with a trowel in two layers, the thickness of 2 mm, especially mortar Mapelastic which are reinforced with fiberglass mesh with a mesh of 4.5 x 5 mm, resistance alkalis.

Ensuring continuity of waterproofing to pipe wall / wall, wall / floor or in areas of expansion joints are made using special rubber profile Mapeband. Mapelastic waterproofing material must have the following characteristics:
- Adhesion to concrete support: 0.8 N/mm2;
- Waterproof: up to 3 atmospheres pressure and a positive atmosphere of negative pressure (DIN 1048);
- After freeze-thaw resistance: more than 300 cycles (UNI 7087);
- Elongation to break (DIN 53504) after 28 days at 230C and 50% U.R.: 18%.

6a) Bonding ceramic tiles or Klinker

For bonding ceramic or porcelain tiles Klinker using an adhesive compound mixed with latex Keracrete Keracrete Põlva, adhesive C2T (according to EN 12004).

The adhesive must have the following characteristics:
- Open time: 20 minutes;
- Correction time: 30 minutes;
- Waiting time before grouting: after 24 hours;
