Karelia parquet history begins in the Nordic countries, known for attention and consideration they give wood in 1941. Basically, Karelia parquet emerged as an alternative to solid wood, based on the use of alternative materials, lighter, which gives a price affordable and easier installation.
Most manufacturers, used to manufacture parquet, wood of conifers for layers 1 and 2 and noble essence wood eg oak, merbau, wenge for the wear layer 3.
![]() Technical data Karelia parquet
Layer 1
• Precious wood, thickness 3.5 mm, finished with varnish or UV cured gloss traffic in 5 layers or oil.
Layer 2
• Nordic Pine carefully selected, thickness 8 mm.
Layer 3
• Nordic Pine, thickness 2.5 mm.
- In terms of construction, Karelia parquet is composed of three layers of wood perpendicular, namely, layers 1 and 3 have fiber oriented in the same direction and two perpendicular to this layer.
- This arrangement gives the three-layer parquet Karelia increased dimensional stability than solid wood and can manufacture in large drawings with dimensions of 14 x 188 x 2266 mm from floor massive size eg 15 x 70 x 500 - 1000 mm.
- Later in the '80s came the click system combination, which gave a major Karelia parquet flooring from solid: its ease of mounting can be mounted in floating system significantly reduces installation costs and time.
Qualitative differences less visible, but which are important to Karelia • The middle layer is carefully selected wood, fiber is parallel which prevent tensions that can arise between slats that make up the plank.
• Given the low humidity and temperature variations specific Nordic countries, northern pin has a high density and dimensional stability of spruce wood, Hevea or other common species used in the middle layer.
• The total thickness of the flooring 75% is made of this wood, pine, including the connections, so this argument is very important.
• Noble wood layer is wear and decor is also selected essences both European and exotic ones, where many of essence there are two classes: country and nature.
• Products stained Karelia, especially oak, are made only select grade wood, no knots or sapwood.
• Varnishing in five layers with elastic varnish, UV cured gives a high resistance to impact with solid objects and initially resistant color finish for a longer period of time.
• The last two layers are applied by a special technology - nanotechnology - which preserves the natural roughness of wood compared to other products that have that glossy film - patina flooring gives an artificial look.
• Short end plates are finished with plywood, a multilayered, with increased hardness, which allows profiling system with high accuracy and thus a combination click ease, coupled with an increased resistance of the joint.
Diverse range of products Karelia parquet is a major asset marked by:
• availability of many wood and tiles both in version 3 strip, 2 strip and 1 strip (plank full);
• variety of finishes available on Oak: stains, oils, brushing, treatment with ammonia, heat treatment;
• very broad range of products full plank (floor type) both oak and on the other essences. The collection is presented in two widths 138 and 182 mm, with or without beveled;
• most essence is available in both version finished with varnish, and oil;
• Creativity and quality parquet Karelia was certified by two red dot awards for creative product award at the "Floor" in 2009 and 2011, for Saima and Impressio flooring ranges.
Parquet wood used in Karelia comes from well managed forests. CoC certificate Karelia obligation to pay special attention to the acquisition of raw materials and guarantees the timber. Moreover, the timber is controlled in accordance with PEFC rules, Certificate of an external auditor.
All production processes and products are certified conformintate Karelia with international environmental management standards ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 quality. So make sure Karelia parquet is produced which respects both the environment and the highest quality standards.
