The system consists of two types of waterproofing that role and corrosion protection for concrete against carbonatarii:

Mapelastic, Two component waterproofing a cement mortar and latex related, reinforcing mesh fiberglass (or impaslitura).

Smart Mapelastic, Two component waterproofing a cement mortar and latex related, applied by brush or by placing gunite and fiberglass reinforcement (or impaslitura).

Features:
Mapelastic, Applied elastic waterproofing coating with reinforcing mesh 2 mm fiberglass alkali-resistant, the role of protection against ingress of water in the substrate.
Elastic material is used for waterproofing, resisting cracks that may occur in the substrate (equalization dig, dig the slope, plaster) up to 1.2 mm;
Mapelastic, Is water resistant to 3 atm positive pressure. and negative water pressure of 0.7 atm.;
Waterproof concrete has excellent resistance to over 150 cycles gelivitate;

Mapelastic is but a vapor barrier and corrosion protection of concrete and the cement mortars in attacks against aggressive agents such as carbon dioxide, chlorides or sulfates coming from seawater, hot springs, etc.., which can damage the structure concrete.
Mapelastic waterproofing applied by trowel and finally reinforced layer has a thickness of 2-3 mm. Consumption: 1.7 kg / m² / mm of thickness. Application can be made by gunite but consumption doubles.

Mapelastic is highly resistant to chemical aggression as it will show evidence below:
Mapelastic layer acts as a corrosion protection of concrete against carbonation reaction implicitly reinforcing iron protects against corrosion.
Accelerated carbonation test (in room air enriched with 30% CO2) highlights the absolute waterproof layer Mapelastic this aggressive agent.
Comparative samples were run on two porous concrete prisms water / cement ratio 0.8. Blank was unprotected, and the second sample was protected with Mapelastic. The results highlighted were: blank CO2 was penetrated in thickness of 50 mm after 60 days of exposure and the sample protected with Mapelastic CO2 was not affected after 60 days of exposure.
Mapelastic layer protects concrete from the action of sodium chloride (ie present in seawater). Waterproofing Mapelastic completely blocks the penetration of sodium chloride in a porous concrete. Comparative samples were run on two porous concrete prisms water / cement ratio 0.8 immersed in a solution of 10% sodium chloride. Blank was unprotected, and the second sample was protected with Mapelastic.
The results were: control sample was penetrated by sodium chloride in thickness of 35 mm after 60 days of exposure, and sample protected with Mapelastic was not affected by slight sodium chloride after 60 days of exposure.

Even in contact with the solutions used to thaw, based on calcium chloride (CaCl2) whose action is destructive for the best quality concrete, Mapelastic offers an impenetrable barrier.
Test results are indicated by lower mechanical strength (initially of 65 N/mm2) concrete prisms of a permanent submerged in a brine concentration of 30% CaCl2, even in this case effectively protects concrete Mapelastic protection preventing aggressive and destructive attack chlorides on concrete.
Comparative samples were performed on two concrete prisms with water / cement ratio 0.4 immersed in a solution of 30% CaCl2. Blank was unprotected and the second sample was protected with Mapelastic.
The results highlighted by mechanical compressive strength tests were: blank after 60 days of immersion was a decrease of strength reaching 38 and the sample protected with Mapelastic N/mm2 after 60 days of immersion had a strength of 65 N/mm2.

Smart Mapelastic, Elastic waterproofing.
Applied in thicknesses of 2 mm / layer is consistent fluid, put in operation by brushing on curved or difficult areas, with a brush. Its fluidity mixture can be applied in 2-3 coats. Are reinforced with fiberglass mesh substrates present cracks. Consumption: 1.6 kg / sqm / mm thick brush application, 2.2 kg / sqm / mm thickness by gunite application.
